Welcome to living a little healthier each day.

Updated: May 15, 2024

Hello,

My name is Shannon Merritt and I want to be a little healthier each day ! I have spent my adult life teaching fitness to all ages. As a fitness instructor I hope to instill in clients the desire to feel energetic, physically stronger, and more mobile through exercising. I think that everyone can find joy in exercise even if that might mean the participant feels JOY just because the exercise session is OVER for the day…..that counts, that is still JOY! Daily exercise success is something to celebrate.

But exercise is only one piece of the puzzle of living a little healthier each day. What you eat and drink and how much you sleep are all important factors for good health.  Daily stress that you feel from external factors like a crazy busy life, demanding job or internal stress can negatively affect your health. Little daily or weekly changes in a few areas of your life can improve your health.

It all starts with WHY you want to take steps to live healthier. One amazing client I had the great privilege of training several years ago told me and an entire class of people her Ahhh Haaa moment and what brought her to my class. We will call this client Marge. Marge was in her late 70s and said that she realized that she needed to do some exercise when she looked at the size and shape of her underpants vs her body shape. She said that she held up her underpants (big granny panties) and looked at her body. Marge said because her butt was flat and floppy and her stomach was pooched out so much that it appeared that she should be wearing her underpants the wrong way around! Of course the class erupted in laughter. Everyone has their Ahhh Haaa moment. What’s yours?
