Embrace Life and People

Literally, I mean hug a person.
Hug someone long enough to melt into the hug. That melting is physical and emotional relaxation. Of course, you may want to ask for permission from the unsuspecting person first. Open your arms signaling to them you want to hug them, which in turn gives them the opportunity to flee or jump on in!
Touch activates the parasympathetic nervous system. Fancy words I know, this system can calm you down by lowering your blood pressure, slowing your heart rate, reducing anxiety and stress and making you feel safe. A quick hug doesn’t really create this feeling but a longer embrace does.
To embrace can also mean: acceptance of something willingly and enthusiastically.
When we put both meanings of embrace together, you get a hug in which both participants willingly and enthusiastically accept that calming feeling together in one moment.
So, open your arms to those you care about and enjoy the serenity an embrace can provide.
